KATY SAYS: One of the most iconic movies of all time. My uncle used to work at ILM and I got to go to visit their offices. In the lobby were real props and costumes from all of Star Wars original trilogy. The thrill that came over me looking at real Darth Vader made me feel twelve years old again. That’s the magic of Star Wars.

When I was 4 years old, I had a couple of books – The Art of The Empire Strikes Back, and The Empire Strikes Back Notebook. There was a TV special at the time as well, called SPFX: The Making of the Empire Strikes Back. Learning that people made stuff blew my mind. I’m a person I could make stuff! I memorized all the names. I followed their careers. Writers, directors, and FX artists became my rock stars. I made ridiculous little videos. I wrote. I created weird, spooky worlds. And although the medium has changed, I still make stuff to this day.
