I was one of those kids in school who finished their work early and then (as per the report cards) became a “distraction to others.” One particularly distracting day, my English teacher brought in a VHS copy of Dr. Strangelove, handed it to me, and sent me out of the room. I’ll be damned if it wasn’t one of the best things a grown-up ever did for me. The very idea of an Air Force General finding out about the end of the world while sitting on the crapper taught me more about comedy than I could have ever imagined.
