KATY SAYS: I first put this movie on when Eric was out one night. I knew it was famous and I knew it was lauded as a masterpiece but I didn’t know what else to expect. What I got was a tense, thrilling mystery that grabbed me and didn’t let go. Shot in a post WWII Vienna, The Third Man thrilled me with it’s excellent performances, unique soundtrack, (don’t hear much of the zither nowadays) and riveting story. It’s a treat to watch.
ERIC SAYS: There are few movies that I can think of that are in the same league – From Anton Karas’ hypnotic zither soundtrack to the final shot outside the cemetery, this is an indelible film, which also happens to feature the greatest character entrance of all time.
Bonus: The Ferris Wheel scene.
